Online Marketing Specialist

This temporary (8-week) Summer position created under the Canada Summer Jobs program and is perfectly suited for youth between the ages of 15 and 30 years old, who are looking to break into the Media & Marketing world. This would be an excellent position for a youth who has not yet completed high school, however, this role is appropriate for all education levels.

 

Position Duties & Learning Opportunities

  • Develop and implement online marketing strategies across a wide variety of industries
  • Perform on and off page search engine optimization, maintain records, and analyze results
  • Research and implement content recommendations for website creation and social media optimization
  • Client Service: Learn to communicate effectively with clients to understand their goals and to make recommendations for best practices.
  • Teamwork: Work as part of a total digital marketing team to understand the multiple facets of the online industry
  • Digital Skills: SEO practices, Google Ads management and analysis, on-site optimization
  • Communication: Work collaboratively with team members, communicate task progress, prepare research findings and communicate recommendations in both verbal and written formats;  develop attention to detail in written communication (of particular concern for effective SEO)

 

Supervision will occur on-site throughout the day as the worker learns concepts and completes tasks related to digital marketing strategies. The youth and the supervisor will work closely together with frequent feedback on quality of work, best practices, and next steps (using industry software and in person). The direct supervisor will be our in-house SEO & Google Ads specialist with indirect supervision provided by the company owner and digital marketing expert., with additional support from our team.

They will be offered educational opportunities (including Google Ads/Analyst certification opportunities) as well as exposure to a wide variety of specialty areas within the realm of digital marketing, allowing maximum exposure to all facets of the industry.

Web & Graphic Designer

Summer Student

 

This temporary (8-week) Summer position created under the Canada Summer Jobs program and is perfectly suited for youth between the ages of 15 and 30 years old, who are looking to break into the Media & Marketing world. This would be an excellent position for a youth who has not yet completed high school, however, this role is appropriate for all education levels.

 

Position Duties & Learning Opportunities

 

  • Create art for a variety of mediums, including print, social media, and web
  • Learn to use a variety of industry software to create files to client specification and to comply with third-party requirements
  • Team Work: Work within the graphic and web design to collaborate on assignments, supporting the general marketing team and their priorities
  • Communication: Maintain daily logs, communicate verbally and in writing with team members and clients, articulate client goals visually, communicate with entire workplace team to maintain efficiency and task progress
  • Client services: Develop skills in order to understand client needs, ask appropriate questions for further understanding, and complete tasks to client satisfaction, occasionally working with challenging clients and learning effective communication techniques.
  • Digital Skills: Develop software skills, including Adobe Suite and other industry software, WordPress and associated themes and plug-ins

 

The successful candidate will be closely mentored by our Graphic Design Team Leader on a daily basis while working within the graphic and front-end design team to develop skills as you create a variety of art. In addition to practical experience, the youth will also be exposed to a wide variety of facets within the realm of graphic design, and how to apply these practices to a wider marketing perspective. This will introduce the candidate to multiple potential career paths.

Junior Web Developer

Summer Student

 

This temporary (8-week) Summer position created under the Canada Summer Jobs program and is perfectly suited for youth between the ages of 15 and 30 years old, who are looking to break into the Media & Marketing world. This would be an excellent position for a youth who has not yet completed high school, however, this role is appropriate for all education levels.

 

Position Duties & Learning Opportunities

  • Assist the development team in developing front and back end sites, testing, deployment, and site-updates
  • Learn and utilize industry tools to troubleshoot and correct issues thought-out site development and maintenance
  • Research and apply strategy in relation to marketing and client goals
  • Develop familiarity and improve web design and creation technique, WordPress use and its applicable themes and plugins
  • Client Service: Understand client needs and make recommendations to best achieve their goals
  • Teamwork: Work within the web development team in collaboration with the graphic design and digital marketing teams
  • Communication: Maintain thorough documentation with work completed; communicate with clients, team members, and supervisors to communicate progress and challenges
  • Digital Skills: WordPress and related themes and plugins, web development technique and coding languages

 

The successful candidate will be supervised on-site on a daily basis by the Web Development Team Leader and supported by the team. The youth will work closely and receive frequent and regular feedback throughout project completion by the team, team leader, and company owner.

 

The youth will be directly mentored by the web development lead who will exposure the youth to a wide variety of best practices and techniques within the web development field. The youth will be offered education opportunities including google ads certification in order to apply web development and analysis skills to a broader marketing realm.
